  • Loan period is 14 days for lending materials, while overnight and weekend for reference materials. If the users need to keep the books with them for an additional period, they should renew the books before the due date stamped. Otherwise overdue charges will be calculated.

 Rules for book borrowing and overdue charges

  • Library tickets must be produced along with the university ID card or record book at the circulation counter.
  • The owner of the library tickets is fully responsible for the borrowed books.
  • Library tickets are not transferable. It is prohibited.
  • It is compulsory to provide all check-out materials to the security officer at the library entrance.
  • Reference books are issued from 1.00 pm on each day, and they should be returned before 10.00 am of the following day. The books issued after 1.00 pm on Friday should be returned before 10.00 am on the following Monday.
  • The books marked as PR on the spine and journals are not available for borrowing.
  • If the users are unable to return the borrowed books on or before the due date, fines will be calculated as follows:

                              For reference books – Rs. 2.00 per hour

                              For lending books – Rs. 10.00 per day

  • Loss of library membership cards should be reported to the library counter in writing as soon as possible.
  • Loss of a book should be immediately reported to the library. If the lost book cannot be found during two weeks, the reader is obliged to provide a copy of the lost book or to pay calculated value of the book.
