About Us

The BPUSL library was started at No. 214, Colombo 07, at the same time the entire university was operating in the same place. After the University shifted to the homagama, the library functions as a branch library to the main library of the university. The library’s main objective is to fulfill the information needs of academic staff and students who are registered under the faculty of graduate studies and center for external examinations. The library collections consist mainly of lending, reference, and periodical collections. The total collection of the faculty library is around 10,000 books.

 

General Guidelines

  • Library members should produce their identity cards whenever they come to the library.
  • Library users are thoroughly advised not to bring external books, files, umbrellas, rain coats, bags, travelling bags, foods, water bottles etc. into the library.
  • It is responsibility of users to keep silence at all the reading areas in the library.
  • Damaging or improper use of books as well as stealing them are considered as serious offence. Disciplinary action will be taken against such engagements.

This service is available only for library materials.

 Opening hours

On Wednesday and weekends (Saturday and Sunday), library is kept open from 8.30 am to 4.15pm.

It is closed on other week days and public holidays.
