The Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPUSL) is extraordinary university among universities of all over the world because its mission is to spread Theravada Buddhism, Pali language and allied subjects throughout the world through teaching, learning and research. Corresponding to above mission, the library of BPUSL has taken all the possible ways to collect relevant materials (both printed and electronic) and to provide library service to our library members’ to enhance their academic quality though they are teaching, learning or research. This in return helps the university to enhance the academic excellence too

Our collection has direct relationship with overall courses taught at the university though they are Buddhism, Buddhist philosophy, Philosophy, Pali, Sanskrit, Archaeology, oriental languages or western languages. The library collection contains not only above subject materials, but also other reading materials such as journals, novels, magazines, newspapers etc. The library as one of the most important entities in the university, it takes necessary steps to provide relevant, balance and timely information sources and resources to you aiming quality graduates and researchers for the society.

I take this opportunity to invite all the university community to become active members of the library either physically or remotely which is essential to develop your different types of library skills. Such an enthusiasm, on the other hand, will help you to become lifelong learners.
